The latest is that string theory has been all but debunked anyway – now I can understand why. It's based on bogus mathematics.

I think the biggest problem with how this was presented is that it was never made clear that these are not what they equal in the traditional sense. What you're getting are values assigned to the series, like ID numbers in a sense (maybe not the best way to think about it, but it at least gets you off the idea that it actually "equals" that value). All of them diverge. They've just found ways to assign values to each one.

Could we say 1-1+1-1 …. is 1/2 ? we can not define the value about oscillation and divergence .

I’m not a math genius, but the first S1 is completely wrong. How come you chose where to stop sums and just average all the results? This is something a scammer would do lol.

Ramanujan would have something to say I think. Supersum yes – but you cannot sum a series that does not converge! You cannot simply say take the average to be 1/2 you can supersum but that means you are already in analytic maths. So you are conflating ideas to massively over simplify the situation.

For the second sum, couldn’t you organise it like this? 1+(-2+3)+(-4+5)+(-6+7)….. and then you would get 1+1+1+1…… which doesn’t equal 1/4?

Includes all numbers like a number line -5,-4,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,4…. etc…so counting this whole no.s …-5+-4+-3+-2+-1+0+1+2+3+4+5…. will be actually " 0" because if both positive and negative numbers has infinite values and all ends 0. So -1/12 may not be the sum of infinite numbers
